Client: National Heritage Board, Singapore

The history of Balestier, a district named after Joseph Balestier, dates back to the mid-19th century where he was the first American consul and the owner of a sugar plantation.

A total of sixteen trail markers are placed at notable sites in Balestier, providing locals and tourists the history of its origins.

Purposefully designed to be conspicuous, the trail markers are paired with bright, vibrant colors attracting the attention of trail walkers and passersby. Architecture elements combined and formed into a collage featured on the front panel of the marker. Each carefully selected and extracted from notable structures that carry a piece of history of Balestier.
